My First Knit Sweater

Project type

Knit Sweater

Date

April 2025

This was my first ever knit wearable — the Louisiana Sweater by PetiteKnit. I used Big Twist Icing in Soft Sage, a yarn I picked up from Joann (RIP 🪦).

At the time, I barely knew what I was doing — this was one of my very first knitting projects. I made mistakes, I unraveled rows, and I wrestled with tension. But in the end? I made a whole sweater. A real, wearable thing.

The yarn is pillowy and light, and the sage green color is still one of my favorites. It’s far from perfect, but it was a huge step forward — not just in skill, but in confidence.
